Editorial policy

Best Tripod publishes buying guides and how-tos for photographers and video creators choosing camera support. This policy explains how a guide goes from idea to page, and what we promise readers.
How a guide is made
- Topic selection. We pick questions photographers actually search for, using keyword data and the questions people ask in photography communities.
- Product research. We shortlist products that are currently sold in the U.S., then check manufacturer specifications, user manuals, compatibility details and long-term owner reports.
- Scoring. Each product is rated on the Best Tripod Score: stability, portability, working height, build and value (see how we score and how we research).
- Writing and fact-checking. Specifications and claims are checked against the sources listed at the end of each guide. We do not publish prices, star ratings or testing claims we cannot support.
- Review and updates. Guides show the date they were last reviewed. We revisit them when products are discontinued, replaced or materially changed.
Use of AI tools
We use AI-assisted tools to help with research, drafting and on-page SEO checks. Every recommendation must trace back to verifiable sources, and our editorial standards, not a tool, decide what gets published and recommended.
Independence
We earn money through affiliate links, including as an Amazon Associate. Brands cannot buy placement or review outcomes, and commission rates do not influence rankings. See our affiliate disclosure.
Corrections
If something is wrong or out of date, email hello@best-tripod.com. We review every report, fix verified errors promptly, and update the guide's review date.
Safety
Our guides are general information. Never load a tripod, head or clamp beyond its rated capacity, keep a hand on the camera in wind or on uneven ground, and follow the manufacturer's instructions.
