The right tripod for your camera, your bag and your shot.
We research travel, camera, phone and video tripods, monopods and heads on the numbers that matter: real working height without the center column, load capacity against the gear you actually shoot, and how small it packs.
What the box says vs. what you get
Max height: with center column fully raised. Ask for the height with the column down.
Max load: a ceiling, not a working load. Aim for two to three times your camera and heaviest lens.
Folded length: legs only. Check it with the head attached against your carry-on.
Find support by type
Every category is judged on the same five things: stability, portability, working height, build and value.

Our three rules
Every product on this site passes these before we recommend it. Read the full research process.
Real numbers, not box numbers
We report working height with the center column down, folded length with the head on, and load capacity next to the weight of real camera and lens combinations.
Matched to how you shoot
Travel, landscape, astro, video, vlogging or phone: we say who each pick is for, and who should skip it.
Honest about trade-offs
We say when a bundled head will need replacing, when a plate isn't Arca-Swiss, and where a cheaper tripod does the job.
